Steve Nash Game 1 Pregame Interview | Celtics vs Nets

Steve Nash was interviewed pregame before Game 1 of the Nets’ series vs the Boston Celtics on Saturday, May 22. He spoke about having a bigger crowd at Barclays Center, the past week of practice, and the importance of Game 1.

Barclays Center will be allowing more fans in the building for Game 1. Nash talked about what it will be like to have a bigger audience, saying this: “The crowd situation is great, I think it’s a great reward for everyone… this is about the fans as much as anything… to have fans back in the building at playoff time is special.”

The head coach also gave some insight on how helpful the last week of practice has been after not being able to practice much throughout the season: “It was a chance to reset… the reality is it’s not really consistent when you have different players in and out of the lineup… two of our better fives have never played together… it’s a different type of journey for this team… the week was productive.”

Lastly, he commented on the importance of Game 1 in the series, stating this: “It’s always better to start a series well… it is an advantage, that is important… I think it’s very favorable to win game one and start as you intend to go on… we won’t worry about the outcome, we’ll worry about the process.”
