The Patriots re-signed DB Jalen Mills to a 1 year deal worth up to $6.1 million with the expectation that he transitions from cornerback to safety. Mills still had two years remaining on his 4-year $24 million contract he signed in March 2021, but the two sides worked out a revised deal.
Mills started 10 of 11 games last year for New England before going down with a groin injury. His 2022 campaign was solid aside from injuries, and Mills should be a good depth piece in the Patriots secondary that recently lost Devin McCourty.
Watch Taylor Kyles break down the signing and what it means for the Patriots’ offseason plan here.
