The Celtics look to push their win streak to 4 games as they travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons. Boston was in the driver’s seat the entire game and held off the Pistons’ late-game push to get the 102-93 road win. Jayson Tatum scored 19 PTS in the 3rd quarter to keep Boston in the lead. The victory marked Boston’s longest win streak of the season, and their 11th win in their last 15 games.
“We’re coming out with the right focus from the start,” said Head Coach Ime Udoka, “…We guarded extremely well for most of the game.”
Boston has had the league’s best defensive rating over the last 15 games. When asked what has changed with the team during this stretch, Robert Williams said “S***…sick of losing, I guess. Sick of that disgusting taste in your mouth.” He continued to say “We’re talking. No one is taking criticism personally. We’re all just trying to win.”
“We was always confident when we were under .500,” said Jayson Tatum, “Frustration might have been the right word, but there was never any doubt in that locker room. Frustration was warranted because of the results…But we got a lot of confident guys in the locker room.”
