Kyrie Irving was interviewed postgame after the Net’s massive win vs the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of their series, 130-108. He talked about Joe Harris’ special performance, the importance of spacing, and fans at TD Garden.
Irving was asked about when the team knew Joe Harris was getting hot. This was his response: “Early in the game you could see that us driving the basketball, collapsing the defense was going to get guys open shots… it was good, good night for Joe, good night for all of us.”
The Nets stressed the importance of spacing after their slow start in game one. This what what Irving had to say on the matter after Game 2: “I think it’s just staying disciplined on that end… our spacing is just important… just adjusting on the fly and making basketball reads.”
Lastly, Irving was asked about playing in front of fans at TD Garden. This was his response: “I mean it’s not my first time being an opponent in Boston… hopefully we can just keep it about basketball… hopefully there’s no belligerence or racism from the crowd.”
When asked if he has experienced this sort of behavior, Irving had this to say: “I’m not the only one that can attest to this… it is what it is.”
