Joe Harris was interviewed after the Nets’ practice ahead of their Game 5 matchup vs the Celtics in the first round. He spoke about the mentality of an elimination game, when the team is at their best in terms of shooting, and how comfortable the team is feeling after barely playing together in the regular season.
He was asked about the mentality of the team going into an elimination game. The Celtics have nothing to lose tonight, while the Nets are trying to close out the series. This was Harris’ response: “Collectively it’s not something that’s necessarily addressed that we need to be more focused… we’re trying to make improvements in every game in the series.”
Harris also spoke about when he feels the team’s shooting is at its best: “We’re more efficient shooting when we’re really spreading guys out, moving the ball… obviously we have the ability to go and do that [isolate]… we’re just not at our best when that’s the case.”
Lastly, Harris talked about how comfortable the team is playing together with the lack of experience they had in the regular season: “It’s hard to say, it’s a difficult question… I feel like we’re certainly getting better… we’re feeling off of each other better than we were early in the regular season… it’ll only get better the more time you play together… we’re striving to keep improving day by day.”
