James Harden was interviewed postgame after the Nets’ blowout win vs the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of their series, 130-108. Harden talked about not scoring a ton of points, the mindset moving forward, and his veteran knowledge of the playoffs.
Harden was asked about his low-scoring totals and if it bothered him. This is what he had to say: “It’s not about scoring for me, it’s about doing everything else… ultimately we got the win and that’s what matters… different games it’s going to be different guys, tonight it was Joe.”
He also talked about the team’s mindset moving forward and how they can improve upon such a dominant performance: “Even like last game we didn’t make shots like we wanted to, but we locked in defensively… tonight was a great job… we always look at the defensive side because that’s what’s going to get us wins… going to get ready for Game 3, because I know they’re going to be excited at home.”
Lastly, Harden commented on his playoff mentality as a veteran and what he has learned throughout the years: “Everybody knows that it’s just the intensity, intensity’s at another level… it’s possession by possession… it’s the small detail things that are going to get you over the hump… it’s just being prepared, that’s all it is… whether you miss shots or make shots… obviously when you’re making shots, that’s a bonus.”
