As the Boston Celtics regular season has all but come to a close, Marcus Smart continues to dazzle and shine for the team, and has been impactful on both sides of the court. Boston’s longest tenured player has had a huge hand in much of Boston’s success, especially when it comes to the Celtics league-best defense.

Boston has continuously given other teams fits on defense, and Smart has been spearheading those efforts and making his presence known. While he’s always been known as a defensive stalwart, this season might be arguably the best on both sides of the ball. With the competition fierce, will Marcus Smart get serious consideration for Defensive Player of the Year? The Garden report weighs in on Marcus Smart and his odds to take home the DPOY award.
