We made it! Happy Draft Day!
The 2023 NFL Draft officially opens at 8pm EST tonight and from what we’ve learned thus far, we’re in for quite the wild ride.
Though it’s seemingly mentioned every single offseason, what may unfold tonight truly feels like “the great unknown”.
We can, however, use some context clues like the betting odds from our exclusive wagering partners at Fanduel Sportsbook, to make an educated guess on what may happen. Here’s a look at the position they think the Patriots will take in the first round:
Position of Patriots First Drafted Player
Offensive Lineman +200
Quarterback +300
Cornerback +400
Wide Receiver +500
Defensive Lineman +600
Tight End +1600
Running Back +2000
Safety +4000
Linebacker +4000
Quarterback?! Yup. Apparently, the second likeliest scenario is to bring in some competition for Mac Jones, or maybe even trade him.
While this feels like premature odds shifting to me due to baseless rumors, you just never know.
Here’s a look at some realistic option at who the Patriots coyld select tonight, in order of most likely position (at FanDuel). Click the player’s names for a tweet with a blurb and a video on each:
Offensive Lineman (+200)
Quarterback (+300)
Cornerback (+400)
Wide Receiver (+500)
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State
Defensive Lineman (+600)
Tight End (+1600)
Running Back (+2000)
Safety (+4000)
Linebacker (+4000)
As Mac Jones would say, “The hay is in the barn”. Now it’s time to sit back and see how this thing actually plays out.
We’ll have Patriots Beat, CLNS Draft Central, and more all weekend long covering what happens during the draft for New England. Follow along for it all!
